Armattan Marmotte

Armattan's most advanced design execution to date

The Armattan Marmotte is the culmination of everything that was learned during the design process of all the previous flagship multi-rotors by Armattan. While you may see things that look familiar, nothing is the same. It's way, way better.

The Cage

When you examine the front-end of the Marmotte, you can immediately see the time and care that went into designing this masterpiece. For starters, the cage maintains an entirely Titanium build to protect your camera. A mini-camera, this time, because who uses a full HS1177-sized camera anymore? Within that are a pair of 1mm aluminum fpv-camera savers. On the off chance that a branch snakes in and wants to crack your lens or case, these are meant to bend first. And if they do get pushed out of place they'll be easier to bend back than your camera is.

Up next is the independent HD-cam angle. That's right, we've brought back the ability to tilt your HD Camera (and the onboard FPV camera) at will. That means you can easily capture some backwards, upside-down flying just like your favorite pilots. The cage braces are crafted from a 10mm titanium block using 6-axis milling specifically so that the bolts that lock in the camera tilt will be easily accessible from any angle. And even better, the milling allows us to fine tune the location and amount of strength that we want; shaving unnecessary grams.

Lastly, we took care not to leave any pilot out. We've lowered the stabilization standoff in the cage to ensure that your camera can get down to minimal tilt for you LR or proximity pilots out there. Think 10 degrees or so. And having HD Cam tilt means you won't have to cut a foam wedge raise the rear, either.

The Carbon

The first thing you'll notice about the carbon is the design. We doubt you've seen something like this on a quad before, and that's because this is space grade carbon fiber. Armattan has joined forces with a supplier that provides Carbon Fiber for space programs. That means this carbon is lighter, stiffer, and stronger than anything you've ever flown before. That'll translate to a simpler tune and a better flight. And we can guarantee that you can only get the real stuff from here. Each year, up to 10 million pounds of carbon fiber is wasted from the space and aeronautics programs in the US alone. Armattan uses some of the wasted materials to make space grade frames.

The Whole Package

And the rest of the frame? We've left nothing out. As you've come to expect, an extended-aluminum rear provides a protected mount for your VTX antenna, and the raised lips on the front and rear metal help keep you from damaging that beautiful carbon. Not only is the frame 5.5 inch prop compatible, but the longer body means you can more easily fit an HD camera and a bigger lipo, even at higher tilt. The FC can mount up on either the 30.5mm or 20mm options, and there are 20mm slots for slidable VTX mounting so you can get the perfect fit. Oh, and if you have a half board VTX, we've got you covered too. There's two pairs of 30.5mm mounting holes in the rear just for that.

So right about now you might be wondering what toll of all these upgrades is. Never fear: even with the new carbon, longer body, and the redesigned front end, this frame comes in 10g lighter than the Rooster. Don't tell us that we're weighing you down.

The WarrantyArmattan Warranty Logo

Do we even have to say it this time? It's an Armattan flagship, so you know the deal. There's a full warranty on all Carbon Fiber and metal pieces. Bumper to bumper. Top to bottom. Tip to tail.

Important note:
Company policy allows converting a Marmotte to badger but not the other way around.

The best FPV frame ever. The Marmotte is well thought out, flies awesome and with the guarantee, which I have to use twice, works uncomplicated as well.
    Armattan FTW!

    Excellent Frame

Wonderfully thought design with very high quality craft and parts. Nicely packaged and shipped very fast.
I would say I will buy from you again, but this frame is so strong that even as a beginner i don't expect any of it to break any time soon. I fully endorse Armattan products.
    Thank you!

    Absolutely brilliant

I've been a huge fan of Armattan since my first build with a Chameleon Ti frame, and with the Marmotte they've just taken what was already great to the next level. I bought two Marmottes on release and built a brand new 6s quad and moved my old 4s kit over to the other frame, and they both fly beautifully. No weird frame resonances or other tuning hassles, they just fly on rails as smoothly as you want.

The cam saver design is a little tricky on micro cameras, you'll need some 3-4mm hard spacers to fit and hold the camera in place with two bolts. It'd be good to include some in the frame kit for those without 3d printers or spacers handy.

I love the all-in-one tilting of the camera cage to adjust hd and fpv cams at the same time. No slipping at all, which I was worried about when I first saw the design.

There are already some great 3d prints out for immortal T, sma antenna, arm protectors, etc. And all the chameleon ti arm designs will still work.

I honestly have no idea how they'll improve on this! Now we just need an updated Gecko and long range version.

p.s. reduced shipping cost to South Africa would make me very happy too ;)

    Marmotte sexiest quad ever made

Posted by Zac on 10th Mar 2019

The Marmotte has not even released yet, I haven’t seen it in person and it already is the nicest quad frame ever made. I CAN’T wait to build this quad. GREAT JOB Team Armattan.
